My name is Ben, I am 25 years old and I live in beautiful Australia. I love all things about photography – the precise equipment, the outdoors, nature and wildlife and the thrill of not knowing what sort of images I will come home with.

I guess it is that unpredictability that keeps photography interesting and fresh (that and the endless amount of Canon DSLR body updates of course )

Unfortunately and as any photography enthusiast will know, it is not a cheap hobby and this is made worse by the temptation to constantly upgrade thanks to the regular “improvements” as mentioned above. It is also not an exact science and many people will end up spending thousands of dollars on a lens that isn’t suited to them or their cameras.

I have seen and have first hand experience of this, simply because I was once quick to buy the most expensive lens thinking it was the best there was without considering my own specific needs.

Hence I try to provide detailed and thought provoking lens reviews in the hope that I will be able to help someone make the right decision – more specifically an informed decision where they are happy with the end result. Of course I am always available to answer any specific questions further to the reviews I provide.

In summary – yes I do have a day job and yes it takes time to craft proper reviews that are not just cut and paste jobs from Amazon or a list of product specifications. Obviously I do not own every lens that I review, but I research every lens as if I am going to buy it myself.
